Information about batteries
You can actively help to prevent waste. To do so, treat batteries in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions in order to achieve the longest possible service life.
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to special waste treatment. They can be disposed of at appropriate collection points in your country. This is the only way to ensure proper treatment and recycling.
Dispose of defective and discharged batteries immediately. If a battery has leaked, wear protective gloves. If liquid from a battery comes into contact with your skin or eyes, wash the affected area with water and seek medical attention.
These abbreviations indicate the presence of harmful substances and appear together with the symbol prohibiting the disposal of batteries in household waste:
Pb = battery contains lead,
Cd = battery contains cadmium,
Hg = battery contains mercury.
